My name is Josef, I was born in 1991 and I live in a small village called Chrást (it's near Pilsen - the European culture capital city in 2015) in the Czech Republic. I study at University of West Bohemia (faculty of economics) and I live by Eurovision and its songs every single day. I recognized Eurovision first sometimes around 2004 after Ruslana has won with Wild Dances. This song was huge hit and people talked about it (with this song, the articles also mentioned Céline Dion and ABBA as one of the most successful participants through Eurovision history). Then I get to Eurovision with Czech debut in 2007 and I've been fan of Eurovision since then. I also watch the national finals since 2011 and, since then, I became fully acquainted with the selection process and everything about ESC.
I am just an ordinary guy who loves music (singing, playing the clarinet and listening to it) and reading (mostly detective stories, fantasy and sci-fi), his husband, TV series, reality shows, films and the nature (I love walking in the forest etc.). If I enjoy something, I am fully occupied by it. I'm currently the president of OGAE Czech Republic as well.
Jan Van Cappel
Hello, my name is Jan. I was born in a distant 1980 in Bruges, and I live with my husband in Kapellen (near Antwerp) in Belgium.
I've been a fan of the ESC for as long as I can remember. Way back in 1989, my mother allowed me to stay up until the Belgian representator Ingeborg had sung her song "Door de wind". Very clever, as Ingeborg already performed sixth on the night. Little Jan went to bed. Each year, I host a little ESC party at our place for some friends, where we discuss the songs, the dresses, and we're giving points as well. In Eurovison, I'm most likely giving points to Estonia, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Ukraine and Iceland. Countries which please me the least are Denmark, Sweden, Latvia, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Turkey, and Azerbaijan. In EM, I'm representing Finland.
I'm Márcio, a portuguese guy born in 1994 and living near Porto, Portugal. I studied Civil Engineering in Porto University and now I'm working on Porto city center.
My first memory of Eurovision is seeing my father recording on a VHS tape the portuguese participation in 2007 (Sabrina - Dança Comigo). Then, I remember the 2008 scoreboard and all the discussions in my school about the 2009 winner. From 2010 until this day, I've been following closely the contest and getting acquainted with all its features, including national finals and online contests. And that's how I got to know this amazing contest!
I've been participating on Eurovision Memories since EM11, with only one break while I was in Erasmus in the Czech Republic. Apart of a really small period with Montenegro, Portugal was and still is the country I proudly represent. It's also my second time on the organization team of this contest.
Music plays a big part on my life. I'm (almost) all the time wearing headphones or playing it out loud on my house. Apart of it, I love to read all kinds of books and learn bits of new languages.
MARIJN vAN DEN Reek
My name is Marijn, I was born in 2000 and I live in the Netherlands in a city called Helmond. Now I’m studying to become an IT Teacher at secondary schools. I started watching Eurovision in 2011, I don’t know why, but suddenly I was watching it and it seemed interesting. I’ve been following Eurovision actively since 2015. And since 2016 I’m also watching some National Finals (Melodifestivalen, MGP, DMGP, MESC etc.) My favourite Eurovision songs are ‘Grab the Moment’ and ‘Something Better’ and my favourite winner is ‘Heroes’. My hobbies are playing tennis and chess, watching sports on TV (Speed Skating, Athletics, Swimming), when I have some time off, I also like to analyse data.
I debuted in EM55 with Moldova. I have represented Moldova, United Kingdom and Albania. Currently I'm representing Germany. What I love in EM is the diversity of music, and the people in it.
Hello, I’m Tom! I’m 30 and I live in Central Poland, close to Łódź city. I’m big Eurovision fan – I remember my first contest in 1994, when Polish amazing debut took place.
Since then I haven’t missed any Eurovision show, but last couple of years I don’t follow national finals, I discover all entries, when all of them are chosen. My favourite ESC countries are Armenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Turkey, Malta, Greece, Romania, Netherlands or Portugal.
Besides music (I love 80’s and 90’s decades), my hobbies are sports (tennis, athletics, winter sports), languages, sci-fi & horror movies, healthy food and cats.
I joined EM in 2012, in EM10 I represented Bosnia & Herzegovina. From next edition I started representing my home country. I’m glad, that I can share music with awesome people from all over the world and meet new friends.
I try to follow basic rule to present my very personal (and diverse) kind of music, not seeking to win at all costs.
Our job is to take care, regulate and give fairness to the contest.
We work on the following:
