Good evening Europe! This is the Eurovision Memories Song Contest calling and we're happy to announce that this year, our beloved contest & community will celebrate 8 years of existence. We just can't believe that it's been already 8 years of Eurovision Memories and over 100 editions of this great contest.
Eurovision Memories wouldn't be here without this amazing community of wonderful people that each brought their own contribution to make Eurovision Memories what it is today. Special thanks to our international team of organizers that still do their best to keep this contest up and running: Marijn van den Reek from The Netherlands, Tom from Poland, Jan from Belgium, Josef from Czechia, Flavio from Portugal.
Eurovision Memories officially became one of the most lasting-refreshing Eurovision Online Contest's that are still available for Eurovision Fans all over the world. We are proud and happy that we did this together and that we're still doing it for as long as we can do it.
A short History of the Eurovision Memories Song Contest
In June 2011, after gaining experience from several other existing online contests, the Eurovision Memories Song Contest started to be planned. What we envisioned? Well...something new, something refreshing and something which would be more than a simple online contest, something that would resemble a community of people that can and will interact with each other for many years to come.
In July 2011, the first edition of the Eurovision Memories Song Contest was officially announced, even though application started to be sent on 21 June 2011, Romania and Sweden being the first two countries that applied for EM 01.
On August 12th 2011, Armenia is winning the first edition of the Eurovision Memories Song Contest. Quite a weird winner for a first edition but obviously, it brought us a lot of luck in the following years. A total of 12 countries took part in the first edition of the contest.
Now we are ready to celebrate 8 years of existence in August 2019. Stay tuned for more details and surprises that will be revealed soon. :)
