The Second Semifinal of EM 18 took place yesterday and 7 other countries qualified in the final. The Second Chance Poll was opened yesterday and it will close today at 00:00 CET.
Also the poll for the Anniversary Show was opened today and people seriously got involved by calling their friends to leave a vote for their country. Still the EM participants will get a chance to vote too, using points. After that, all the points will be combined and we will have a winner for our first anniversary.
More news about the Anniversary Show will be launched on the website this week and surprises for our contestants are already planned. A video will be made with all the winners and great memories we had together during this year. The official date of the Anniversary show is unknown yet but after everything is well planned we will let you know as soon as possible.
Today we managed to talk with one of our "golden" members, who joined our Team since the first edition. Find out what he thinks about our Contest.
How did you joined EM? How did you find out about EM?
I honestly cannot remember, I think I must have seen something through Florin on Facebook.
Did you discover new music at EM? Name some of your favourite songs
Of course, that's the number 1 reason I compete in this contest, to share music. After hearing music here I bought albums by Moda, Caro Emerald, Within Temptation and Chisu, plus Nabiha is on my list to buy soon!
Favourite song of all - Chisu "Baden Baden" (Finland EM3) and I also love Nabiha "Never Played the Bass" (Denmark EM18), Moda & Emma "Arrivera" (Italy EM4), Inga & Aush "Menq Eng Mer Sarery" (Armenia EM1), Within Temptation "Sinead" (Netherlands EM11), Elena I Lambe "Najdobro do Sega" (FYR Macedonia EM13), Nolwenn Leroy "La Jument de Michao" (Luxembourg EM12), Imelda May "Mayhem" (Ireland EM12), Estopa "La Primavera" (Spain EM9) and LOADS more!
What do you like most about EM?
Sharing music, as simple as that. I also like the way several of us are now in contact with each other regularly.
Are you happy with the results and voting system in general?
Obviously I would have liked to have won a few more times ;) but generally I think it's ok, though I do not really like the second chance vote, I think the top ones should qualify and that's it, no second chance.
Do you think that this contest can be improved? How?
I think it would be improved by regular players for each country. When people are in the contest for a long time, we get to know them and it makes it much more friendly, I talk to Denmark, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Romania, Armenia and Ireland quite regularly and I am now getting to know Turkey, Finland, Sweden and others. When the 'players' change regularly it means that those of us who have been in for a long time have no idea who anyone is anymore. Also with regular players you really get to know someone's taste in music, for example I have liked nearly everything the Netherlands has entered and yet it is rare that I vote for Romania or Portugal, it is not that I don't like these 2 guys, it's simply about different taste in music and I like that.
What do you think about the Web-masters?
They are robots who are going to eat my brain...... he he he.... Florin has done a great job, Marcio and Felix too. I think they try to be as fair as they possibly can be.
Has EM influenced your life somehow?
Yes, it has filled my life with amazing music!
As everyone probably knows, Eurovision Memories Song Contest will get its first anniversary in early August so we're in full preparations for a special edition dedicated to our players and fans.
Details of the special edition will be revealed soon and the main settings are still discussed now. We promise to have a great edition to remember the great memories we had in the last year.
We will choose on of the winners to be the "song of the year" and many prizes for many songs. Everyone is invited to take part!
Don't miss today the first Semifinal show presented by our Turkish broadcaster. The show will start at 19:00 CET and it will end with 7 qualifiers for the Grand Final!
