Festival da Canção is near!

Everything is being set up for a new Festival da Canção! In 2014, the portuguese national finals has its 50th anniversary and a great show has been planned already.

FC 2014 will have 2 shows in March!
The place and dates were already defined: In 8th (Semifinal) and 15th (Grand Final) of March, Convento do Carmo (in Lisbon) will have the right to host the next edition of the portuguese national final.

The broadcaster (RTP) advanced that the upcoming FC edition will consist of 2 shows: a semifinal and a grand final.
On the semifinal, 10 songs will be presented and the voting will be only by televoting. Only the top5 qualify to the Grand Final.
Those qualifiers will be again being voted during one week, including the day of the final show, to find the best song for Europe.
On both shows, the FC and its 50 years will be remembered and honored.

RTP have invited composers/songwriters to present song and artist purposes. All themes will be sung in portuguese, although invitations were made to foreigner composers.

2. Emanuel: composer of "Dança Comigo (Vem Ser Feliz)" (Portugal 2007)
3. Jan Van Dijck: composer of "Há Sempre Alguém" (Portugal 1990)
4. Nuno Feist: composer of "Gratia Plena", "Quase a Voar", "Alvorada", and many other FC participant songs
5. Andrej Babic: composer of "Senhora do Mar" (Portugal 2008), "Canta Por Mim" (FC 2010), "Sobrevivo" (FC 2011) e "Vida Minha" (Portugal 2012)
6. Tozé Santos: composer of "Redescobrir Portugal" (FC 2012)
7. João Matos e Vítor Antunes  
8. Ricardo Afonso, Luís Fernandes e Rui Fingers 
9. Tiago Pais Dias: composer of "Amor Maior Que A Vida" (FC 2012)
10. João Só
